You agree that Massachusetts State Association of the Deaf (MSAD) reserves the right to modify or discontinue any provision of the website and its services, and to remove the any kind of data you provide, either temporarily or permanently, at any time, without notice and without any liability towards you, and the Massachusetts State Association of the Deaf will not be held responsible or liable for timeliness, removal of information, failure to store information, inaccuracy of information, or improper delivery of information. Attempts to gain unauthorized access to this website or compromise security ("hacking") are prohibited.

In order to use the website or certain parts of it, you may be required to register or sign up on the website. Our Commitment to Privacy

As a nonprofit organization, the MSAD places a high priority on protecting your privacy. This privacy policy was created to demonstrate our firm commitment to the privacy of our website users and visitors, so that they can feel comfortable while browsing our site. This policy explains the types of information that is collected by the MSAD website, www.massdeaf.org, and how this information is used.

 

  • The Information We Collect

This policy applies to all information collected or submitted on the MSAD website. On some pages, you can make requests, join as a member, make a donation, register for an event, and sign up to receive materials. The types of personal data collected at these pages include: name, email address, mailing address, credit card information, and so forth. On some pages, you can submit information about other people. For example, if you make a donation and wish to honor a specific person, you will be asked to submit the recipient’s name and mailing address. You need to credit your source, ie a news clipping or website link.

Return email addresses are used to answer the email messages we receive. Such addresses are not used for any other purpose and are not shared with outside parties.

Non-identifying and aggregate data is shared with our advertisers and used to better design our website. For example, we may tell an advertiser that a number of individuals visited a certain page on our website, or that a certain number of people filled out our online registration form. We do not disclose anything that could be used to identify those individuals.

Your email address may be placed on our email list for receiving e-news and e-announcements, which contain ways for you to “opt out” either now or at any time in the future, if you do not wish to receive our messages.

We do not sell, rent or lease email addresses to anyone outside MSAD. We also do not share personally identifiable information provided to us online in ways unrelated to the ones described above, except where you explicitly give permission through sign-up or logging in this website.

The MSAD website provides links to external websites as a resource for its users and visitors. The MSAD is not responsible for the content or privacy policies of those websites. All opinions expressed in the Vlogs section of www.massdeaf.org are those of the individual authors (except where such vlogs are by authored by MSAD board or staff members) and do not necessarily represent the views of the MSAD. For details, see our Vlog Policy above.

To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information, we have put into place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.

Will not share your financial information

MSAD will not share with any outside organization your personal information you provide to us during your visit to this site. We respect your privacy and appreciate your support. If you ever want to remove yourself from our email list, all you need to do is send an email to Secretary@massdeaf.org with REMOVE as the subject.

All credit card transactions conducted on this site are routed through a secure server. The secure server can send and receive private information across the public Internet by scrambling (encrypting) it.

MSAD collects the following information through our secure online financial transaction pages: name, address, email address, phone number, and donation amount.  Your credit card number is transmitted directly to our credit card processor; we do not store your credit card number, we never see your credit card number, and we do not have access to this number.

When you make a donation, your personal information is used to acknowledge receipt of your donation for tax purposes. When you send a donation in honor of or in memory of someone and request that an acknowledgement be sent to another individual or a family, we will use the name and address of that individual or family as requested for acknowledgement purposes only
