Commissioner Sotonwa, of MCDHH, is a Black man who is bald and has a black and gray goatee. He wears a gray suit with a white shirt, a diamond patterned tie, and a white pocket square.
Commissioner McCue, of DTA, is a white man with white hair and a short white beard and mustache, wearing black-framed glasses. He wears a black suit and pinstripe shirt, with a red & black herringbone tie.
Hello, I’m Opeoluwa Sotonwa, Commissioner of the Massachusetts Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
The Department of Transitional Assistance assists and empowers low-income individuals and families to meet their basic needs, improve their quality of life, and achieve long-term economic self-sufficiency.
Our agencies are working together to tell you about a new program that could help you feed your families this summer!
With schools closed for the break, hundreds of thousands of students across Massachusetts have lost access to regular breakfast and lunch programs at their schools. But that doesn’t mean they will go hungry!
We are proud to tell you about a new program that helps low-income families with school-aged children buy food in the summer months.
Summer EBT provides $120 per eligible child to help with grocery shopping.
Families who are already DTA clients are automatically enrolled. They do not need to do anything and will automatically receive their benefits on their existing EBT card!
If you’re not currently a DTA client, you can apply for Summer EBT online or through a paper application at your child’s school.
We want all kids across the Commonwealth to be safe, happy, and well-fed this summer. We encourage you to apply for Summer EBT today!
